Hopefully the Ground Hog

got it Right…

All we can say is WOW! We are sitting here at our computer thinking of how grateful we are for the value so many, like you, bring to my real estate business, looking out our office window and there is not a cloud inthe sky. Spring is Springing!

For many across this great country it’s still COLD, grey, and snowy! Others, never see a snowflake all winter long. It very well could be SUPER COLD today right here in Staten Island (but it’s not). One thing is for sure, this winter season is coming to an end. It does every year without fail.

Just like the weather seasons come and seasons go, so do the seasons of life. We are sure you have noticed, as we have, the older we get the faster the seasons move by. These “seasons of life” go by so fast, my hope is that you enjoy each one or at least grow from each one. Yes. Some of life’s seasons will be HOT and others will be COLD, some high and some low. The lows we want to move by quickly, the highs we want to stay in forever sometimes.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 sums up “seasons of life” better than we can…

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:

  • a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal,
  • a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance,
  • a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
  • a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend,
  • a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.

So, what does this have to do with you or your home or real estate?

Well, spring is a time of action, people busy trying to get things done they could not do during the winter months. Sort of a renewing of the mind, spirit, of many things GOOD! Hopefully this special season will bring awesome happenings your way as your year unfolds. Wouldn’t it be great to simply just grab your favorite book along with your favorite lounge chair, set it right down in your favorite spot somewhere, outside or next to your window, while looking out on a beautiful Spring day and simply ‘RELAX”. Yea, that would be nice. Our hope is that you will get to something like that on more than one occasion this Spring. Really enjoy the place you call home! The NEXT season will be here before you know it.

Unfortunately, there are some that will have a Spring Time they would much rather forget.

Like it says in Ecclesiastes, with all the beauty this time of year brings, there is also the ugly for some. Surviving the battlefield….

With advancements in battlefield medicine and body armor, an unprecedented percentage of service members are surviving severe wounds or injuries. For every US soldier killed in World Wars I and II, there were 1.7 soldiers wounded. In Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom, for every US soldier killed, seven are wounded. Combined, over 48,000 servicemen and women have been physically injured in the recent military conflicts.

In addition to the physical wounds, it is estimated as many as 400,000 service members live with the invisible wounds of war including combat-related stress, major depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder. Another 320,000 are believed to have experienced a traumatic brain injury while on deployment.

We are still on a mission this year to raise $10,000 for the Wounded Warrior Project!

We are donating a good portion of our income from home sales to them. As you know Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) serves veterans and service members who incurred a physical or mental injury, illness, or wound, incidental to their military service on or after September 11, 2001 and their families. On that date, America watched in horror as approximately 3,000 people died including hundreds of firefighters and rescue workers. Many warriors note a sense of duty to volunteer for the military following these tragic events.

YOUR REFERRALS REALLY DO HELP THE VETERANS!

Who do you know considering buying or selling a home you could refer to our real estate sales team?

Not only will they benefit from our award winning service, but we donate a portion of our income on every home sale to the Wounded Warrior Project.

We want to make it easy to refer your friends, neighbors, associates or family members considering making a move, so here are your options:

  • 1. You can pass along our business card to them, we have enclosed a couple here for that purpose.
  • 2. You can go to http://www.BlakeTeamReferrals.com and enter their contact info online or forward the link to who you know considering a move.
  • 3. Of course you can always call us direct as well at 718-608-4892.

You and your referrals mean more than ever to our team. As we move forward in this new season, please know we are extremely thankful for you and you being a special part of our business.

Thank you in advance for the referrals.

With all our appreciation,

Hal Blake

Why We Support The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP)

When we decided to create this program, it did not take us very long to agree on a charity to support. We have a very close family member who bravely fought on the front lines of World War II and was seriously injured; and more recently a close lifelong friend who served in Operation Iraqi Freedom. So this was the natural fit for our organization. This belief was only strengthened when we started to read more about their mission and how they serve their members. WWP serves veterans & service members who incurred a physical or mental injury, illness, or wound incidental to their military service. And with major advancements in battlefield medicine and body armor, more and more service members are surviving severe injuries. In addition to physical wounds, it is estimated as many as 400,000 service members live with the invisible wounds of war including combat related stress, major depression, and PTSD.

Our team rallies around our annual goal of raising money & donating portions of our income to helping this worthy cause. We are committed to providing outstanding results for both buyers & sellers referred to us by our past clients, friends, and others. Since WWP survives on sponsorships & donations from grateful civilians, we are happy to contribute and proud to support the brave men and women who literally put their lives on the line for our freedom.
