Happy Valentines Day to You and Yours!

We were led to believe when we were young that Valentine’s Day was reserved ONLY for those closest to us. That it was weird to wish strangers or acquaintances a Happy Valentine’s Day. That would be equal to telling them we love them. But aren’t we suppose to love others?

Of course, we are bringing up Valentines because it’s February – the month for Valentine’s. And, it’s a big deal – bigger than just flowers or dinner with that special someone.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres.

When you read these words, it sure sounds like love is NOT reserved for just those close to us but rather it’s lived out on and for others. Others being anyone and everyone. We strive every day to bring this into our business and treat others – clients, customers, agents, etc. – the way we would like to be treated.

So, the secret to our success is pretty much summed up in this month’s newsletter theme: L-O-V-E. Not as a noun, but as a VERB. In fact, when we find ourselves with a decision to make, it’s impossible to go wrong filtering through this question: What does love require of me?

We do this by donating a portion of our income from homes we sell to them! As you know Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) serves veterans and service members who incurred a physical or mental injury, illness, or wound, incidental to their military service on or after September 11, 2001 and their families. On that date, America watched in horror as approximately 3,000 people died including hundreds of firefighters and rescue workers. Many warriors note a sense of duty to volunteer for the military following these tragic events.

Why We Support The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP)

When we decided to create this program, it did not take us very long to agree on a charity to support. We have a very close family member who bravely fought on the front lines of World War II and was seriously injured; and more recently a close lifelong friend who served in Operation Iraqi Freedom. So this was the natural fit for our organization. This belief was only strengthened when we started to read more about their mission and how they serve their members. WWP serves veterans & service members who incurred a physical or mental injury, illness, or wound incidental to their military service. And with major advancements in battlefield medicine and body armor, more and more service members are surviving severe injuries. In addition to physical wounds, it is estimated as many as 400,000 service members live with the invisible wounds of war including combat related stress, major depression, and PTSD.

Our team rallies around our annual goal of raising money & donating portions of our income to helping this worthy cause. We are committed to providing outstanding results for both buyers & sellers referred to us by our past clients, friends, and others. Since WWP survives on sponsorships & donations from grateful civilians, we are happy to contribute and proud to support the brave men and women who literally put their lives on the line for our freedom.
